John Jamieson and Justin Lowenthal Receive The American Heart Association’s 2019 Predoctoral Fellowship

On Thursday, November 8th John Jamieson (4th year PhD, ChemBE) and Justin Lowenthal (4th year MD/PhD, BME) received The American Heart Association’s Predoctoral Fellowship for 2019-2020. Under this Fellowship John will be modeling the effects of a stroke on the blood-brain barrier. Meanwhile Justin will be exploring the effects of hypoxia on cardiac and vascular co-development during stem cell differentiation, and cardiomyocyte metabolism in the context of the genetic heart disease ARVD using decellularized matrix as a substrate.
